Steak and Potatoes Kind of Girl?

December 14, 2011

Especially tonight. I will be up until the wee hours of the morning finishing up all the loose ends in my online coursework I have deliberately ignored for a while now. That means I definitely need to cook up some brain food now that I have gotten home from work and am mildly peckish. Steak and Potatoes is the idea. I would have taken a composed photo of the dish…but I got hungry.

My steak is a Sashimi-Grade Tuna steak, barely seared and seasoned with cracked black pepper and Salish (alder smoked fine salt).

The potatoes are organic tiny purple potatoes sauteed in Tarragon and butter with baby artichokes, chantrelles, and red boiler onions. The plate is finished off with a drizzle of white truffle oil and washed down with a glass of wine. One glass of wine (I have homework to do).  The whole thing took me less than 20 minutes and I just-so-happened to be majorly distracted by an engaging phone call from my bestest of friends, Kelly. Someone that was paying attention could have easily recreated this concoction in 15 minutes flat.

Now to do some work…well, maybe after dessert.
